These Aren’t Bread Crumbs!

My brother is an accomplished chef. In less than four decades on earth, he has fed Bushes, Gores and Jobs. Several years ago, he gave me an excellent recipe for homemade croutons that transforms an ageing baguette into a gourmet accessory to bedazzle any soup or salad. You can make this with sliced or cubed bread.
• mince a few garlic cloves into some olive oil and microwave in a glass or ceramic ramekin for up to 45 seconds depending on the muscle of your microwave oven
• drizzle the mixture over your bread as you toss to coat each piece (I use a mixing bowl for this part)
• lightly sprinkle with dried oregano and salt
• bake in a single layer at 250 for 12 minutes; turn/toss and bake for another 10 minutes or so
Store at room temperature in a brown bag for several days….Enjoy!
