Even Hands-Free Driving Isn't Safe Driving

As many of us get ready to take a summer vacation or head out for a weekend road trip, please remember that use of hands-free communication devices still has risks. Even using an approved headset requires doesn’t prevent the driver from experiencing distraction; it’s nearly impossible to pay attention to two things at once. According to a study published by the AAA Foundation in 2016, test subjects still needed 27 seconds to recover full concentration after using an approved communication device while driving. At 25 mph, the car would travel over 900 feet before the driver regains full attention. Let’s all stay safe this summer.
