How to Make LinkedIn Work for You (Part 2 of 6)

(Editor’s note:  This is the second installment of a six part series written by Anthony Pizziol, BOLT Staffing’s American Canyon Branch Manager.  As the title suggests, Anthony explains what LinkedIn (LI) is and does, and what you should know in order to create a great profile.)
First Key Item: Your Profile Photo
There should be absolutely no debate as to whether to include a photo on your profile. Anyone who uses the default grey avatar might as well delete their profile. LinkedIn relegates people with default grey avatars to the bottom of search results. As humans, since the day we were born we learn to read faces and all their nuances. In fact, we’re experts at reading faces. If there’s no face to look at on your profile you’re at a huge disadvantage.  Research consistently demonstrates that people stare at your photo the most on your LinkedIn profile. This is a top Linkedln profile tip.
There’s a big caveat: make sure your picture looks good and professional.  Next up:  your company information.
