Have you ever wondered what the demand will be for a particular job in the next 5 years?   The California Employment Development Department (EDD) has the answer.   Simply go to the “Labor Market Information” page on the EDD’s website.  You can look up information county by county and job title by job title.  For example, in Sonoma County, the projected increase in demand for Information Security Analysts from 2012 to 2022 is 71.4 percent.   For Brick Masons and Block Masons, the project increase for the same time period is 62.5 percent.   This type of information can be extremely useful if you are trying to figure out what sort of degree or skill set you want to acquire in the near future.   Stay tuned to the BOLT Blog for more ways to use EDD website to your advantage.
