Don't be Helpless on HWY 37: Send a Letter Today!

Below is a model letter in support of the UBP proposal to fix Hwy 37. Sending it today can only help solve the problem. The proposal is in the very early stages and will be reviewed endlessly before building actually begins. If you’re reading this, you need to send this letter or write your own. At this point in the process you are simply stating your support for a solution. If it goes forward from here and you don’t like the details, there will be plenty of time to comment. For now, we need to get our officials’ attention. Please be sure to send your letter either to:
phil@pvgov.com.
Or:
Phil Vermeulen
3457 Castle Creek Ct
Roseville, CA
Make sure he has it no later than Monday May 2, 2016.  Thanks!

If you want to send your own letter, two sentences will do. Simply say where you live and that your life would improve if you didn’t have to waste 2 hours a day to travel 20 miles on Hwy 37.

Otherwise, just copy this model letter and send it:

Dear Members of the Highway 37 Task Force:

As a frequent user of Highway 37, I urge you to approve the United Bridge Partner proposal to add the two new lanes between Sears Point and Mare Island.  This section of roadway is an absolute nightmare that has caused me many wasted hours of sitting in traffic!  This is a quality of life issue that severely affects the region’s economic viability and it will only get much worse in the future.

On behalf of the tens of thousands of affected drivers, I strongly urge you to support the United Bridge Partners (UBP) proposal that will be formally presented to you on Thursday, May 5th.  Simply, there are no other alternatives.  UBP’s proposal will not only improve all Highway 37 travelers quality of life, it will also help to significantly improve the environmental restoration of the surrounding marshlands through the dedicated percentage of toll revenues earmarked for this purpose.

Thank you for your assistance, concern and pledge to support this important project,

Sincerely,

|

  1. Before I can agree or disagree, I would like to hear more and plan on attending the meeting to hear for myself. In addition, I will let my friends/co-workers/family know about this possibly change that will affect all of us. Thanks for letting me know and I have already sent the information to my employer who is housed in Petaluma. We use Highway 37 all of the time.

  2. The whole Hwy. 37 issue need to be fixed but in the mean time a temp. emergency solution which will only costs an estimated 1 to 2 thousand dollars to solve a man made immediate danger because people becoming road raged over backup and cutting in front of others, making the people obeying the traffic road signs, hwy. road strip markings a two hour wait? “Solve Hwy. 37” Sign it! and let others know this needs to be done first! because of Safety!
