Staffing Industry Facts

Earlier this month members of the California Staffing Professionals (CSP) visited the State Capitol to detail the value of the staffing industry to working people, employers, our local economies and the California economy as a whole.
As CSP members, BOLT’s Joanne Sanders and Scott Crossen met with Senator Mike McGuire and Assemblyman Marc Levine sharing the value of the staffing industry to the state and as well as concerns of our employees.
Not surprisingly, transportation and roads led the list of employee concerns.
Among the facts about our industry that are important to the State:

  • Staffing firms pay $425 million to the State in employer taxes
  • California staffing companies put 1,574,216 people to work in 2014
  • Everyone of those employed people are contributing taxes to the state
  • Those people earned an annual average of $36,810
  • The staffing industry supports the business community by recruiting, screening and training workers  to meet the needs of California employers
