Over the past few months we’ve been experimenting with automated call technology. We’ve all gotten those canned calls from telemarketers telling us to press one to receive the sun, moon and stars. Our calls are a little different.
When we get an order that challenges us, for example when we need a number of people with a certain skill set, we first go to our database to identify candidates.
Until recently, we would next make personal calls to each qualified person. Recognizing there were many employees we weren’t reaching, we’ve begun using an automated call system that allows us to make a single recording, transfer the numbers of people we want to reach and click “go”. We were a little anxious about how our employees might respond to our automated calls.  What we’ve discovered pleased us.
The system we use tells us the number of live contacts who got the message along with the number of voice-mails and unanswered calls. The response we get from our employees tells us they appreciate them. Most importantly, the results have been exceptional for filling orders. Once we record the message and press go, the message will reach every candidate almost instantly.
