Back to School Blues: Adult Edition

August is always a time of mixed feelings. Summer’s passing us by, and when we were kids the excitement of seeing our classmates again was always tempered by the reality of resuming the classroom routine. Many of us thought it would be great once we grew up, “no more teachers’ dirty looks,” etc.
Now that we’re the ones with kids, it’s not unusual to find things aren’t exactly as we’d imagined.  Some of us discover that too often there’s more month than money. Others find themselves with less time to devote to the real priorities in life.
August can give us all a chance to step back and honestly evaluate whether or not our current job is meeting all our needs.
Maybe you need to add a bit more money to your month. On the other hand, maybe it’s time to consider a change of jobs. Temping can offer something for either situation. For example, we have weekend event work nearly all year long. That’s a great way to add a few bucks for the books and clothes your students might need this fall.
On the other hand, maybe you’re looking at your home life and wondering how you’ll be able to juggle all the coming time demands and then cram them into each day.
Maybe it’s time to consider a transition.
Temping is an ideal way to get control of your life. Rather than being confined to regular work hours and work days, temping offers the flexibility to decide when and where you work. In today’s job market we can keep reliable employees busy. We have everything from one day assignments to long term temp positions to cover medical leaves. We have a variety of assignments in various industries.
Temping is a great way to maintain and diversify your skills, make new professional contacts and above all, work when and where you want.
If you still have a little time left this summer to reflect and recollect, take a look at your work life and ask yourself if it is doing all it needs to do for you. If it’s time to adjust things, we have you covered!
