Hike Delight! BOLT Participates in Fundraiser at Sonoma Raceway

Here at BOLT Staffing, we pride ourselves in servicing the Sonoma Raceway for their major races. We supply a large trove of hospitality employees to the Raceway to smoothen their operations as they host some of the best entertainment that the Bay Area can provide during the summer! Naturally, BOLT relishes any opportunity to engage in a Sonoma Raceway event, and a fundraiser to assist an environmental project in Sonoma recently caught our eye.

On Saturday, May 12, the Sonoma Raceway hosted a “150 MPH Hike” fundraiser to collect money to assist in the revamping of the Sonoma Overlook Trail. People who bought tickets would have a rare opportunity to explore portions of the 1,600-acre Sonoma Raceway property that is often blocked from public view! BOLT couldn’t miss a chance to join in on the fun, so we had Sandra Reyes (Payroll Clerk) and myself (Sourcing Specialist/Blog Writer) come out, enjoy the sunshine, and take in the incredible views!

The organizers of the hike allowed people to participate in either a five-mile hike at starting at 10:00am or a three-mile hike starting at 10:30am. Sandra and I, being the hard workers that we are but also in need of exercise since we work desk jobs for 40 hours every week, decided that we were a better fit for the three-mile hike. We joined an upbeat group that was in excited suspense of the beautiful views that were about to be revealed!

We took plenty of pictures and learned about the expansive efforts that Sonoma Raceway has undertaken to be great caretakers of the land! Lush with vibrant plant life, ponds, and even roaming cattle (along with a herding dog to ensure they don’t get loose!), the overall landscape of the area was gorgeous and lively. We thank the organizers of the hike, the Sonoma Raceway, and the catering staff who provided us with free lunch and beverages to round out the entire experience!

Best of all, we took plenty of photos too!    – Andrew Noerr
