For every entry received, Bolt Staffing Service and Payroll Masters will make a one dollar donation to the shelter. The contest artwork was designed by local syndicated artist Linus Maurer. Valley of the Moon Children’s Home is Sonoma County’s only 24-hour emergency shelter for children. The Home serves children up to the age of 18 who come to the shelter as a result of abuse, neglect or abandonment. In most cases, children are removed from their home for their protection – often with little or no advance notice. They arrive at the shelter with few personal belongings, except perhaps a favorite toy or blanket. The goal of the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for the children who, through no fault of their own, are placed in protective care. “These are tough economic times that put a lot of stress on families. We chose to benefit Valley of the Moon Children’s Home because we know how vital their services are for children, especially during the holiday season.” Said Joanne Sanders, Founder and President, Bolt Staffing Service, Inc. Formerly located at 620 Broadway, their new office is now located at 955 Broadway, across from Sonoma Valley High School. Some local residents will remember the property, directly across the street from Sonoma High School's main entrance, as "Catarina's home". After purchasing the property from Adrienne Klovee, Catarina's daughter, Morgan and Joanne Sanders, owners and founders of BOLT Staffing, spent the last 3 years renovating the old home and converting it to commercial use. The original style of the building was retained to preserve the local character of the community. The Sanders are applying for a Sonoma League for Historic Preservation 2006 Award.
