How to Make LinkedIn Work for You (Part 1 of 6)

(Editor’s note:  This is the first of a six part series written by Anthony Pizziol, BOLT Staffing’s American Canyon Branch Manager.  As the title suggests, Anthony explains what LinkedIn (LI) is and does, and what you should know in order to create a great profile.)
Let’s Start with The Basics:
Linkedln is a social network for professional networking. It’s a resource to assist people find jobs, connect and network with professionals in your industry, connect with recruiters or sales people, and learn about what’s happening with private industry. Linked In is NOT similar to Facebook. Nobody is on Linked In discussing what they ate for dinner, or why they hate their life, or about how they should move out of the United States because their favorite celebrity claims they are moving to Canada because Trump is now our President….
Having a professional presence on Linked In is important to your personal career and job here at BOLT Staffing. Higher level candidates and hiring managers are most likely utilizing LinkedIn in one way or the other to research the legitimacy of Recruiters and Account Executives.
Getting Started:
How about we dive into the nuts and bolts of Linked In… Put yourself in professional job applicant’s shoes for a second: if they looked you up on Linked In, what would their impression be of you, of BOLT Staffing? Would they be confident putting their trust into you, into BOLT Staffing to assist in their next job placement or become a recruiting partner to find top  talent?
In the next installment of this series, I review the first element to consider when creating or updating your profile:  your photo.
